The Central Workshop under the Department of Mechanical Engineering forms a central facility and it caters to the requirements of all departments. The facilities in Central Workshop are effectively utilized for the conduct of practical class for the students of all first year undergraduate programmes. The primary motive is to impart them with the basic ideas of manufacturing. For the UG students of Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering programmes, advanced training in various skills during the higher semesters builds up their confidence in practical fields of design and manufacturing. Workshop facilities are extended for carrying out UG/PG project works, research works requiring fabrication, assembly & testing, and consultancy related works from various departments. Apart from the regular practical classes, Institute-wide requirements involving fabrication are carried out in Central Workshop with the help of experienced technical staff of the workshop. This centre has ample facilities to undertake consultancy and fabrication works in all manufacturing fields.
