What is Project On-Track?

Personalized Student Support

As a part of the Tennessee Department of Education's TN ALL Corps grant, 18 school districts and 5 local agencies are working with the Niswonger Foundation's Project On-Track high-dosage/low-ratio tutoring program to provide literacy and math instruction to selected students in grades 1-8. Tutors provide support in ELA and Math before, during, or after-school. Select students receive a minimum of 30 minutes of tutoring twice a week for at least 12 weeks each semester.

Family Engagement

Project On-Track also provides students with numerous additional resources for coordinated family engagement and at-home academic support, such as books for students' at-home libraries and a variety of math manipulatives for continued learning at home.

In December/January and again in April, Project On-Track generously donated over 7000 quality Barnes and Noble books to students involved in the reading tutoring program. Each child received 3 books to take home and read with their families. In addition to books, over 700 Project On-Track math students also took home gift bags of math manipulatives. These manipulatives will help the students practice their critical thinking skills through a hands-on approach.
