Phonogram Video - teaches the multiple sounds for the letters/letter combinations as well as motions that go along with the sounds . She gives the children a chance to copy the sounds and the motions.
These motions enable the children to put the sound with a physical action as well as a visual. This engages auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. It activates more portions of the brain and helps them recall the sounds more easily.

These phonogram icons match the motions from the above video. These motions enable the children to put the sound with a physical action and a visual. This engages auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. It activates more portions of the brain and helps them recall the sounds more easily.
The order the sounds are presented is also important. For instance: If you see a word with "ou" you know it makes the /ow/ /oe/ /oo/ /u/ sounds. You would try the /ow/ sound first. If that didn't make sense you would try the /oe/ sound. If that didn't make sense /oo/ and so on.
If the sentence says "The soup is hot." You would read "The 'sowp' is hot" (no , that doesn't make sense) then "The 'soep' is hot." (no, that doesn't make sense) then "The 'soop' is hot." (YES! THAT makes sense!)

This is a video with the teacher saying the sounds of the phonograms and giving the kids a chance to repeat them. The children can see the visuals and the letter combinations that they use as a resource in their writing and reading as well as making the motions (to engage all learning styles and parts of the brain!) We frequently highlight these letter combinations (2 & 3 letter phonograms) in larger words to help us decode them.
