Jennifer Edwards, RN-BSN
Registered Nurse & Health Sciences Educator
About Me
My name is Jennifer Edwards and I am a Registered Nurse as well as a health sciences educator and a coach at V.R. Eaton High School in Haslet, Texas! I have over 10 years experience in the hospital setting and I have loved being a part of healthcare education for the past 6 years! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to combine my three loves, nursing, education AND coaching as part of the team at Eaton High School.
In addition to teaching in the Career & Technical Education Program in the Health Sciences Practicum, I am a certified in Basic Life Support Instructor. As a senior practicum instructor, I have the privilege to teach our most advanced health sciences students in the Certified Clinical Medical Assisting Practicum as well as the Certified EKG Technician Practicum. I have grown our program from 5 students to 56 students and I am proud to say that my student pass rate is 100% for both the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Exam as well as the Certified EKG Technician Exam. My students work to gain a competitive advantage as they pursue healthcare education to become registered nurses, medical doctors, surgeons and more.
My clinical experience includes the following areas: Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, OB Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Medical-Surgical Care. I also spent time in Nursing Education in the hospital setting rolling out initiatives including: Bedside Shift Report & Baby Friendly!
Teaching future healthcare providers is my passion and calling, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to work within Northwest ISD to do just that! I support and strive to help students to be college-ready, career-ready, and life-ready!
