Book Character Pumpkin Project
A letter has gone home along with a details flower for our upcoming Book Character Pumpkin Project. This will count for TWO grades for your child. Each student should pick a book character that they will decorate a pumpkin to look like. They should complete the details flower by listing character traits for their book character. We highly recommend getting a craft pumpkin for this as real pumpkins can get heavy and your child will be bringing it on the bus to/from school. This will be due on October 20th; please see Project Rubric for more information.
We will continue our month long focus on Empathy.
We will review digraphs and learn the magic e words with a_e.
We will learn how to stop and jot about a story. Our focus for the week will be making connections.
We will explain in more detail about the jot we made in reading.
We will continue learning about simple subtraction and will begin to study how to use graphs and tally marks.
We will research our favorite animal from the zoo as well as explore the changes of candy corn when put into different liquids, and take our science CBA.
