The tardy bell rings at 7:40 am. and staff close the doors to start class. Students need to arrive BEFORE 7:40 am. If a back car rider arrives after the doors are closed, please drive your child to the front entrance of the school and walk them up to the doors to ring the bell so that he/she can come through the office for a Tardy Pass. Thank you!

Character Trait of the Month
Mark your calendars! Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. To help prepare appropriate staffing, we strongly encourage all families of returning students to complete enrollment for next year before the end of the current school year.
Enrollment is an annual requirement and doesn't roll over from the previous school year, but for returning families, the process is an easy three-step completion. The process is handled through Home Access Center via a guardian’s account, which results in previous enrollment information being completed.
Enrolling your child as early as possible is one way you can help your campus and the district prepare for next school year. Please visit www.nisdtx.org/enroll to learn more!
Making plans for the summer? Northwest ISD has lots of opportunities for students throughout the summer months. From athletic and fine arts camps to enrichment opportunities and summer school, information for summer programs can easily be found at www.nisdtx.org/summer.

PTA Events Coming!!! You won't want to miss!
PTA hopes to present the ANNUAL TALENT SHOW in May but we need volunteers to host this fun event. Please email wayneacox.pta@gmail.com if you are willing to serve on this special committee.
News from PTA
We are excited to share that PTA Memberships for this school year are now open!
Become a PTA member and support Cox Elementary by helping the PTA fund programs, events, teacher appreciation, classroom/grade level grants, school t-shirts, holiday party supplies, assembly speaker, and so much more.
Remember- memberships must be renewed each school year, and while we love to have members willing to volunteer, your $11.50 membership fee does a WHOLE lot of good without requiring any further commitment
Thank you to the Cox community for your support!

Visitors at Lunch
In order for our students to learn the routines and procedures, our campus will be closed to lunch visitors until Aug. 25th. From Sept. 15-19, lunch visitors will be reserved for Grandparents only (There is a sign up genus for during this time). All other lunch visitors will be open to all visitors beginning August 25th.
We have limited space and the tables are set up outside the cafeteria in the hallway designated for lunch visitors. Only you and your child will be able eat at the parent/student tables. No friends allowed. Lunch guests will need to bring their own lunch.
All visitors will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID.
When your child's lunch time is over, visitors will need to come directly to the office and check out. For safety and security reasons, parents cannot follow students to their classroom or the playground.
In order for all parents to have the opportunity to eat lunch with their child, we ask that you limit your lunch visits to 2 times per student per grading period.
There will be some dates that our campus will be closed for lunch visitors due to events or changes in schedules. These will be communicated through Parent Square and your child's teacher.
