Reading:  

This week we will continue nonfiction texts. We will learn how to remember the most important information from a section by using different strategies. 

Social Studies:  

This week in Social Studies we will learn about recycling and conserving resources. 

Writing: 

This week we will cotinue our unit on Non-Fiction writing.  We will add text features to our non-fiction writing. 

Phonics: 

This week, we will  focus on learning more of lower case cursive handwriting.  We identify, read and spell another sound spelled by the letters -ear and  less common ways to spell the long a sound .

Math Workshop:

This week, our mathematicians will begin Module 12. Students will be learning strategies for subtracting two digit numbers that involve regrouping. It is important for them to understand that 10 ones equals a ten and 10 tens equals a hundred. 

Science:  

This week we will learn more about all living things in an environment, while focusing on seeds and plants.  We will be planting seeds this week so we can observe the plant life cycle.
