What is a Course Syllabus Audit?
A Course Syllabus Audit outlines the curricular and resource requirements that are covered in an AP course. Each AP teacher is required to submit an electronic copy of his or her syllabus outlining the course of study to be followed. The syllabus is then approved by the school administrator. In NISD, there is one syllabus for each course offered. This allows the district to offer an aligned and equitable curriculum to students across the district.
How do I know if I need to submit a syllabus to the College Board?
- My principal has informed me that I will be teaching this AP course and
- I’ve attended an APSI in the past 3 years or I will be attending APSI this summer.
- Read the Appropriate Grade Level Policy and the most recent AP Course and Exam Description for my content.
- Get a copy of a previously approved syllabus for that AP course. Update your syllabus to include the current school year, your name and other relevant details. These previously approved syllabi have answered the AP Course Audit Form Questions. Be sure, especially if you are new to AP, that you have read through the AP Course Audit Form and what your syllabus is addressing related to your course.
- Get the attached syllabus number here.
Your Course Syllabus must be uploaded to the College Board’s AP Course Audit in order for your to access the digital content on August 1, 2019.
