Arrival: We will be taking attendance daily at 9:30 AM. School doors open at 7:20. Our morning meeting begins at 7:40. Students are tardy if not present by 7:40.

Dismissal: Dismissal begins at 3:00, and students are released at 3:05. If there is a change to the day’s transportation, please notify the office by 1:00 by emailing the office at lakeviewelem@nisdtx.org and your child’s teacher. If your child attends an after-school care program, please also notify them of your ride change. 

Change of Clothes: We know accidents happen, so we would appreciate it if your students brought in an extra change of clothes in a Ziploc bag. Nurse Weaver only has a limited supply of extra pants and shirts should an accident happen. This can be left at school or in your students' backpack. 

Headphones:  Your child will need a pair of headphones to keep in the classroom. Please label with their name.

Take-Home Folder: Your child will bring home a Take-Home Folder each day. Inside will include items that can stay at home and items that should be returned to school. We will also include your child’s behavior calendars. The folder will only be signed if there is difficulty with behavior. If there is nothing written, that is an indication of appropriate school behavior. Positive reinforcement will be used daily to remind students to make good choices. 

Specials: Please make sure to wear closed toe shoes on your PE day and bring books back for library day. 

Library: Our class will visit the library once a week. They will be able to check out 2-3 grade appropriate books each week. They will need to turn in their books each week in order to check out new ones. 

Lunch, Snack, & Water: Students can bring in their own lunch boxes. Please also send them with a reusable water bottle (labeled) and a dry snack. You may add money to your child’s lunch account here. Information about applying for the Free & Reduced Lunch program is also available on this site. 

Birthdays: Birthday treats can be brought in this year if they are individually packaged, store-bought treats or small trinkets (stickers, etc.). The student must be able to carry these in on their own. We will still make sure our students feel celebrated on their birthdays.
