Lesson 1: Introduction and Discovery

Students explore Scratch for CS First and create their first program.

Lesson 2: Dance Party

Students create a dance party animation.

Lesson 3: Musical Art

Students will create a colorful collage by programming a repeating pattern, and make the colors in the collage play a sound.

Lesson 4: Musical Talent Show

Students earn badges by creating a Musical Talent show. A badge is a sticker students receive for completing different tasks and challenges.

Lesson 5: DJ Mixer

Students choose a repeating loop of background music, make a slider that speeds up or slows down a sound.

Lesson 6: Music Video

Students create a music video using procedures, which are new commands made up of a set of instructions.

Lesson 7: Movie Sound Effects

Students either create a project where a sprite bounces off another or to add to their Lesson 6 Music Video Project.

Lesson 8: Thank You Project

Students create a thank you project in Scratch for CS First.

Lesson 1: Gaming Story

Students learn about how CS First works, then create a gaming story using Scratch for CS First.

Lesson 2: Racing Game

Students create a two-player racing game in which players control movement with the keyboard.

Lesson 3: Maze Game

In this lesson, club members create a game in which the player guides a sprite through a maze.

Lesson 4: Platform Game

Students create and learn about platform games. Students program a player sprite to move and jump across platforms.

Lesson 5: Escape Game

Students create an escape game in which a player must avoid other sprites that move randomly.

Lesson 6: Launcher Game

Students create a launcher game using key press events, clones, and variables.

Lesson 7: Quest Game

Students learn how to use storytelling in video game design while building an RPG style Quest Game.

Lesson 8: Cave Surfing Game

Students create a game with a side scrolling background (similar to the popular game Flappy Bird).
