Airports
Some destinations have direct flights straight to Nagoya through Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO).
If your local airport does not have a direct flight to Nagoya, you will need to fly into Tokyo first, through Haneda Airport (HND) or Narita International Airport (NRT).
From Tokyo, you could:
Get a flight to Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO).
or
Take a Shinkansen Bullet Train from Tokyo Station to Nagoya Station.
Accommodation around the school is limited. Because of this, there will be a daily NIS shuttle bus to and from Kozoji Station for workshop participants. If riding the shuttle, please be ready in front of the "Mister Donut" at Kozoji Station at 7:45 on both Saturday and Sunday.
If you choose not to use the NIS shuttle bus to get to the school, you will need to have a car or book a taxi.
Google Maps works great for navigating the trains in Japan. You can use it to find train routes from the airport to your accommodation, and from your accommodation to Kozoji Station.
Accommodation Options:
It is recommended that you book accommodation close to the Chuo Train Line so you can easily make your way to Kozoji Station to catch the NIS shuttle bus each morning.
Below are a few options that are on the way from the Chubu airport to Nagoya International School:
Hotel Plaza Kachigawa (~12 minute train from Kozoji station)
Hotel Mielparque Nagoya (~25 minute train from Kozoji station)
Nagoya Kanayama Hotel (~30 minute train from Kozoji station)
Optional Dinner:
Participants are invited to dinner on Saturday, November 22, at 18:00. The dinner will be held at Torikizoku, an inexpensive, casual izakaya located across the street from Kozoji Station.
An izakaya is a casual Japanese-style pub or bar, a true cultural experience. At Torikizoku, you can order a variety of small plates using an iPad at the table, including meat skewers, rice dishes, and fried foods.
Please note: This dinner is not included in the participant fees. Each person will pay individually for what they order at the restaurant.
