Welcome to Healthcare (H) Oriented (O) Platform (P) for Excellence (E) Laboratory.

Taking inspiration from this our HOPE lab focuses on exploring nanomaterials and their composites for healthcare and environmental applications which includes novel sustainable material preparation strategies for optical biosensing and therapeutic applications. Material preparation strategies will involve a "structure-property" relationship with the possibility of scaling up. The optical biosensing strategies will involve the exploration of innovative bio-recognition capabilities and biomarkers guided by machine learning and based on fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy, especially for patient profiling whereas therapeutic applications will be based on the exploration of novel delivery carriers in disease-mimicked conditions. 

Lastly, as humans have evolved, so have diseases, and with HOPE LAB, our goal is to improve human health!! 

Biosketch

Dr. Pranav is a nanotechnology researcher with over a decade of research experience spanning carbon nanomaterials, chiral nanosystems, nanocomposites, and polymer nanofibers for biomedical and healthcare applications, including biosensing, targeted drug delivery, enzyme immobilization, and cancer/neurodegenerative disease theranostics. He is currently an Assistant Professor at NIPER Guwahati, having previously held faculty and postdoctoral positions at VIT Vellore, IIT Kanpur (DST-INSPIRE Faculty Fellow), the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the University of Notre Dame, and IIT Indore. His current research is centred on the design of enantioselective (chiral) nanomaterials for diagnostic and therapeutic applications against melanoma and neurodegenerative diseases. He has authored 30+ peer-reviewed publications, 2 book chapters, and holds 1 patent granted & 3 patent published, and is Principal Investigator on nationally funded projects worth over Rs. 95 lakh.
