The purpose of the Niobrara Public Schools curriculum is to ensure that all students are held accountable to the same academic expectations, and that all teachers work toward mastery for their students as identified within the curriculum. The K-12 curricula has been aligned with the State Content and Performance Standards.
Each K-12 curriculum was designed to be used as a guide for: (1) developing and implementing aligned instructional plans in each classroom and (2) creating and using valid and reliable common assessments.
It has been validated in terms of:
scope (content coverage and student mastery in the class time available);
sequence (grade-to-grade articulation and the building of skills and knowledge areas);
its appropriateness with regard to student readiness;
resources available to support the skills and knowledge areas being taught.
