The Carer Card
The Carer Card
A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends to enable them to cope and carry on with their day to day life as they could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or suffers with mental ill-health or substance misuse’
Unpaid Carers save the UK £132 Billion pounds and year and often find themselves in financial hardship. We think that deserves thanks and developed the Card in partnership with Disability Sheffield and Sheffield City Council.
The Carer Card serves to recognise your role as an unpaid carer and also has a space for urgent contact information.
£15 for a 3 year card
The Carer Card should not be confused with The Access Card in terms of evidencing entitlement to free companion / carer / PA tickets for shows and events.
Perks
Once you sign up you will receive access to a range of perks and discounts via a partner platform
The Access Card
The Access Card is designed for disabled people to communicate their access requirements.
This includes the ability to show that the disabled person needs support from another person with the +1 symbol.
Free carer entry to shows and events is not a right of the carer - it is a right on the disabled person that they can bring the person accompanying them, an 'Essential Companion', to the event at no extra cost.
