Overview of VICTOR research impact tool

The treatment of patients on clinical trials is associated with cost savings for healthcare institutions and practitioner research engagement is linked to improvements in the process of care and enhanced research activity.

Uncovering the impact of undertaking research 'close to practice' can demonstrate immediate usefulness to clinicians, managers and patients. This, in turn, creates a fertile environment to stimulate a research culture, triggering a mechanism for research capacity development, and creating the potential for a 'virtuous cycle' of cost-saving, improvements in care and the growth of research.

VICTOR is a tool for healthcare organisations aimed to make visible the benefit of conducting research. It has been developed in 12 CRN Yorkshire and Humber Partner Organisations and piloted across 14 NHS Trusts in the region.

A basis for continuous quality improvement in research delivery using Impact Planning Templates

Data for organisational reporting and positive communications from site Research and Development departments

VICTOR-e Platform is an account-based system and access to the different functionalities of the system is linked to the role of the user.

Local administrators able to add users to VICTOR

Study Level Evaluator

Users who will add research projects to VICTOR to be evaluated
Invite participants to complete questionnaires for the projects he/she adds to VICTOR

Data Visualisation and Reporting

Users able to view data submitted via the VICTOR questionnaires and produce reports

Organisations and organisational administrators are added to VICTOR by System administrators.
