I am a research nurse with over 20 years’ experience. My role is Research Nurse /Co-ordinator within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I qualified as a RGN in 1991 and RSCN 1994 and joined the University of Cambridge as a research nurse in 2003. When I started out in research, I was involved with studies focusing on childhood growth, from there, I was asked to work in clinical trials within diabetes and endocrine studies. Laboratory Research Technician
I have 35 years’ experience working as a Research Laboratory Technician, in both the Research and Diagnostic fields, in the UK and Australia. .
From 2016 I have been working at the University of Cambridge Department of Paediatrics based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. My role is to support Research and Clinical trial studies. My current role involves liaising and supporting Diabetes research teams. Part of my role is data input, following SOPs and Risk Assessments, while using Good Laboratory Practice. A large proportion of my job involves the logistics of processing, handling, storage -80 freezers, and sending off biological samples, for analysis. Most recent research studies include INNODIA, Meld-ATG, and Ver-A-1TD.
