Background

I am a registered nurse and Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in care of older people at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. I completed my PhD via a NIHR doctoral fellowship and am now looking to build a postdoctoral career as a clinical academic ACP.

Scholarship Project/idea

Identification and prevention of dehydration in care home settings.

Scholarship Impact

I received the research scholarship from the East Midlands CRN in the first cohort. I used this time to develop my project idea around preventing dehydration in people living in care homes, to develop a network of people to support me to develop this project idea and to start a scoping review in this area. I am currently continuing the scoping review and then hoping to develop a grant application to start the research project.
