Patients, carers, and the public are essential to our work. The CRN Yorkshire and Humber has a team dedicated to Patient Carer Public Involvement and Engagement (PCPIE) in research.

Ways in which the PCPIE team can help include:

  • Resources to help members of the public and researchers understand and execute PCPIE

  • Advice about PCPIE in research

  • Creating and supporting PCPIE networks in the region

  • Support new Patient Research Ambassadors until they find an organisation area they wish to be involved in

Sponsors of the Three tour

Our sponsorship of the Three tour is just one of many examples of how the CRN Yorkshire and Humber seeks to involve patients, public and carers in research.

Three is a set of short plays co-written by people living with dementia and commissioned by West Yorkshire Playhouse.

The plays toured care homes and community settings in and around Leeds.

NIHR staff hosted research cafes at some of the performances, to give members of the public the chance to get involved in dementia research.
