Graduate Programs in Geology (UP Diliman)
College of Science Graduate Student Guide (From application, registration, graduation, etc.)
Urgent hiring: Remote sensing/InSAR Scientist for the LInOG Project
I am accepting students interested in tectonic geodesy (from observation to modeling), fault mechanics, and seismotectonics for the Master of Science (MS) (with thesis) or PhD Geology program in UP Diliman.
Specific thesis topic/s for AY 2025-2026 are listed below. But if you have your own ideas related to my specialization or the listed topics, I will be happy to discuss them with you. Graduates of other undergraduate courses other than BS Geology (especially those inclined towards physics/applied physics, geodetic/geomatics engineering, statistics...) are also very welcome*.
Applicants may choose to be self-funded, apply under the DOST-ASTHRDP scholarship (https://science.upd.edu.ph/dost-asthrdp), which covers tuition and stipend for two years* of full-time Masters study, and thesis grants and incentives. The DOST-ASTHRDP is ideal for BS Geology graduates. Non-BS Geology applicants are also considered for the scholarship, subject to some conditions.* Teaching assistantships, which will cover full-tuition and provide monthly stipend, are also possible, subject to availability of slots. Part-time study also welcome.
I encourage interested applicants to email me (jddianala@nigs.upd.edu.ph) their CV and topic of interest or research ideas no later than one month before deadline for applications in the College of Science Graduate Program (which includes the Geology graduate programs).
