Auditions for 2026 Holiday Pops
We are hearing all singers (except for current Chamber Singers members) for a brief audition to make sure Joel knows every singer's voice and can place them appropriately. Rehearsals run from November 2nd to the concerts on
December 19-20.
Please use this link to choose a time slot on August 23rd, 27th, or September 1st. Joel will walk you through an 8-10 minute voice hearing at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Mulford Rd.

Please choose ONE excerpt to prepare for your meeting with Joel. You can print and bring it with you if you like, or we will have paper copies available when you arrive.

What to Expect
Here’s what to expect:
o We’ll do a brief vocal warm-up to determine your range
o Prepare ONE of the choral selections/excerpts listed below, choosing your preferred voice part.
o Do a few tonal memory exercises (a short series of notes is played on the piano and you sing back what you hear)
o Sight read a passage from a choral score

o Judith Clurman “Eight Days of Light” Pick-up to m. 47 thru m. 102
o W.A. Mozart “Requiem” Lacrymosa movement
Nielsen Chorale pianist Kristen Nelsen (a friendly, familiar face to many of you!) will accompany your selection and assist in helping things run smoothly.
