Department Overview

NICTM's Computer Science Department was founded in 2018 and is part of the School of Applied Science. The department offers the degree National Diploma (ND). The vision of the department is to create people who are real time hackers. Who is a hacker? These are unique skilled individuals who can see a challenge and come up with a suitable solution.

Producing computer professionals capable of applying, manipulating and deploying the knowledge of computing in every discipline and to participate fully in this era of spontaneous and accelerated technological advancement

Goal

To produce Computer Scientists and Technologists who have solid knowledge and expertise in solving computing and technical problems around them, Nigeria as a whole and the world at large.

Objectives

  • Provide quality undergraduate and graduate education in both the theoretical and applied knowledge of computers

  • Preparing students for careers as computer scientists in industry, government and academia;

  • Support society by participating in and encouraging technology development.
