RUCKUS our story:
Approx. 1972 Denis Aylward, Keith MacDonald, Carl Calvert, Al Carpenter and Kevin Noonan joined together to form the band then known as F.O.R. The band developed a large catalogue of original songs and recordings and proceeded to start shopping record labels.
The bands management at the time introduced the songs to record producer Harry Hinde in 1973 who in turn took the group and Detroit to record a number of demo’s which resulted in the band signing a publishing deal with Chappell Music. Later a deal was made to record in Toronto for RCA Records under the new band name of Ruckus. The passing of Keith MacDonald (Bass and Vocals) in March 1973 resulted in the bands first lineup change. Eric Thomas took over on Bass and played on a number of the groups recordings. Calvert and Thomas left the group in 1975. Ruckus at this point acquired Bass player and vocalist Roger Roy and along with Aylward, Carpenter and Noonan continued to write and record songs like “Blind Man”, “You are the Reason” “Movin” etc at Toronto Sound Studios, produced by past member and guitarist Carl Calvert. This lineup continued until late 1976.
Ayward and Noonan continued playing local clubs from 1977-1979 with a variety of different member lineups until the passing of Denis Aylward in October 1979.
