Special Education Monitoring Resources for Families
Special Education Monitoring Resources for Families
Parents, families and care-givers are important partners in the special education process. The Department of Review and Support is excited to announce the launch of a family resources web page. The resources found on this page were developed to help ensure the experiences of students with disabilities and their families are considered as part of the TEA's special education monitoring process. The resources provide information on how parents, families, and care-givers may be involved if their child's LEA is selected for monitoring activities by the TEA, including participation in the LEA stakeholder survey data collection during cyclical monitoring. Family resources and stakeholder surveys used during monitoring are available in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Arabic. LEAs can request additional languages during their pre-monitoring conference or during the process from the Review and Support team.
