About your Library Media Specialist (LMS) Kim Rogers:
Mrs. Rogers comes to the library with a wide background. Using the skills she obtained at Eli Whitney, she spent many years repairing computers as a Senior Field Engineer for Data General Corp. Mrs. Rogers then moved on to the best job of her life: raising her children! But as they started school she found a new passion in library work.
She decided to start college and first attended Gateway Community College, earning an Associates Degree in General Science and graduating with honors. From Gateway, Mrs. Rogers moved to Southern Connecticut State University. There she obtained a double Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Information and Library Science, graduating magna cum laude.
Mrs. Rogers began her teaching career at Edgewood School in 2007 where she taught second grade for six years and then third grade for two years. While teaching, she attended the University of St. Joseph and earned a Master's Degree in Instruction and Curriculum with a 4.0 GPA. Mrs. Rogers is cross-certified as a Library Media Specialist through the ACES (Area Cooperative Educational Services) alternative route to certification.
Outside of learning, Mrs. Rogers loves spending time with her family. Married to Mr. Rogers since 1986, they have three grown children, Caroline, Michael Jr., and John. She adores her black lab, Winnie. She loves to read, garden, and volunteer.
