E Portfolio

   My name is Angelisse Perez Vargas.

I will be graduating from High School in the Community in June 2024. Currently I am interested in pursuing in the culinary field, my goal is to get a Associates Degrees in Culinary Arts. I'm still unsure about what specific occupation/job Id like to pursue. I haven't really taken any courses I have taken to help me to achieve this goal but I have volunteer at the soup kitchen downtown, I also had the opportunity to check out how the kitchen at coast guard station  works which was really nice and a good experience. I have gained skills such   as how to use a knife properly through my experience as volunteer in the coast guard station kitchen. Additionally, I have been involved in school and community activities such as Project pride and WILD. Through my participation in these activities I have learned how to become a leader and how to have an out spoken voice. My work and volunteer experience include

helping out the homeless by giving them warm meals and snacks. What I have learned most from these experiences are how much I love helping people its not only fun but it makes a difference. In my free time, I enjoy to cook and sleep. My strengths are that I always stand up for myself and I'm always determined when I have a purpose. Areas that I will and need to work to improve myself are to stop procrastinating and keep myself focused. My friends would describe me as being as a hard worker and a kind person

because I love to work what I want and love to help the people around me. One influential person in my life is my mom because of how hard worker she is. I have overcome challenges in my life such as learning how to get out of my comfort zone. This event has helped me to over come my fears and be more out going. What separates me from my peers is how loving and caring I am. My career goal is to become a chef, In order to achieve this career goal, I have come up with the following short term goals: Cooking methods, knife skills, seasoning, pastry techniques, plating, and flavor.
