This year in math, we will be using many hands-on manipulatives and learning materials to support your child's understanding of each math concept. We will be using the county-wide Amplify Desmos math program, which will be accessed online. Information and login instructions will be available once we introduce the program in class.

Absences:

It is the student’s responsibility to get all missing work when he/she is absent.

Students should:

Check Google Classroom, Planbook, and the "absent" folder in class for assignments.
Complete absent work and turn it in within 3 days of the student's return to school.

One 1.5" or 2" binder

Notebook paper

2 composition books (no spirals)

1 pack of 8 dividers

Wired Headphones/Earbuds (no bluetooth)

Dry erase markers (at least 2)

*Water bottles are allowed, but NOT required. They must be leak proof, no straws, and contain only water (no flavor packets)*

Team Grading Policy:

For the first 9 week period, you have 5 days to turn in a missing assignment. You will receive 10 points off for each day up to 5. After 5 days, the maximum you can receive on any assignment is a 50%.

Come to school prepared and on time every day.

Schoolwide Behavior Policy

As part of the Roland Grise school-wide behavior policy, it is expected that students do all things the KNIGHT way.

If students struggle to meet the KNIGHT expectations, we will be implementing a 4-Step behavior plan:

1st Step: Warning/Reminder

2nd Step: Student/Teacher consequence

3rd Step: Parent Contact

4th Step: Office Referral

If students continue to have behavior issues after their 3rd step, they will receive an office referral to administration for further action/consequences.
