Zones of regulation
Teachers are using Harmony as our tier 1 social-emotional curriculum. WBS is also supplementing with Zones of Regulation as a common language to promote self-awareness and self-management. This year, each classroom will have a "Regulation Station" with self-regulation tools that can be accessed by all students when needed throughout the school day. Lawful, Excused Absences
- Illness or injury
- Death in immediate family
- Quarantine
- Medical/dental appointment
- Religious observances
- Child Care (illness/appointment of a child of whom a student is the custodial parent/guardian)
- Court or administrative proceedings
- Absences related to deployment activities
- Education opportunity (prior approval by principal needed)
Please be sure to communicate with the school when you child is out for any reason. Reach out to the school social worker for attendance support or questions.

- Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Missing the bus
- Oversleeping
- Out-of-town trips (not granted prior approval)
- Vacation
- Inclement weather (unless NHCS is shut down)
