Hi! I'm Mrs. Day. This is my 17th year teaching. I've taught 4th, 5th, kindergarten, and now 3rd! I graduated from UNCW in 2008 with a bachelors of education, and 2014 with a masters in language and literacy. I love teaching all the subjects, but my favorite would have to be reading - there is always a good lesson in a great story, and there is so much to learn about the world through a book!
Hi! My name is Ms. Goldberg, and I’m thrilled to be teaching 3rd grade again this year! I’m from Queens, New York, and moved to Wilmington 3 years ago. I graduated from SUNY Oneonta, located in upstate New York. Fun fact, Mr. Zatt graduated from there as well!
Before teaching at Holly Tree, I was a full-time substitute teacher at Winter Park Elementary and a preschool teacher at The Learning Tree. In New York, I was a full-time substitute teacher for two years and a daily substitute for three years. Starting in high school, I’ve worked with children as an after-school counselor and summer camp counselor, and I’ve always wanted to become a teacher!
When I’m not teaching, I’m probably relaxing at the pool, beach, or snuggled on my couch with my two cats. I recently started playing pickleball, but just for fun! Since I’m still new to Wilmington, I love to explore new restaurants and activities to do here. Currently, most of my free time is spent planning my wedding this summer!
I went to UNCW for both my undergrad and graduate degrees in Education. While I am a proud Seahawk...my husband went to NC State and our family cheers hard for the Wolfpack. You can find us at all the home football games...one of our family's favorite things to do. I have two wonderful daughters, Cambell and Ellis...who are former Holly Tree Cardinals..and the sweetest dog, Luna :) This is my 22nd year teaching and my 2nd year as a 3rd grade teacher. I taught Special Education for 20 years. I love to have a fun, engaging, and productive classroom that promotes learning that will set my students up for success in their personal and academic goals.
