What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies? Pride and Prejudice, Love 020 series, Harry Potter series, Howl's Moving Castle, Sir Francis Bacon's On Revenge (MacGyver scripts, lol)
What would your last meal be? cheese grits
If you won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, what would you do instead? Digital Design or librarian
What makes a ‘good day’ at school? A good day is when a student makes a connection to a literary element or text.
What sort of morning routine do you have to get jazzed for class? Mocha and Audible on my commute
What inspires you? a good discussion with a quiet person, historical and aesthetic settings
What current trends are baffling to you? Why? lost manners; ex. walking around during a presentation/speech, or loudly playing music/video or talking on speaker inside public areas, or entering/exiting on left
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share? In life, don't forget to toast the marshmallows, only order dessert sometimes, look up at the moon, sing along to your favorite song, and reflect on the moments
If you could take the students on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them? Broadway, Mayan pyramids in Honduras, to dinner in 20 years - just to hear about what they've been up to since graduation
