GIFTED ADVISORY COUNCIL
The New Hanover Gifted Advisory Council (GAC) represents the school, business, and the community at large. In addition to the ten members of the council, a liaison representing each school in the system ensures a direct communication link between council and school. An annual report of the actions and findings of the council is made to the Board of Education. In addition to the monthly meetings, the council assists in the evaluation component of AIG developing an AIG Program Survey and analyzing data. This council is charged with the following:
Monitor the timely and accurate implementation of all components of the AIG Program
Advocate and communicate with business and the community at large
Advise and make recommendations to the New Hanover County Board of Education with respect to the improvement of gifted education
Forward copies of minutes to each school
