About Ms. Gerdes

Hello! My name is Carley Gerdes, and I am the Orchestra Director at Murray Middle School!

I graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2021 with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education with a minor in Psychology. I grew up in Wilmington and attended Holly Shelter Middle School and Laney High School, so I know this area very well and am happy to continue being a part of Orchestra in New Hanover County!

As well as teaching, I play viola with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and and am the Ensemble Manager for the Wilmington Symphony Junior Strings and Rockestra. Click the links for information about the student groups and how to sign up!
