About

Meet Jessica Meade, a passionate music educator with an unwavering commitment to the transformative power of the Arts. Currently in her ninth year as a Band teacher, Jessica specializes in igniting the spark of creativity in her students through the enchanting world of music performance. She stands as a fierce advocate for nurturing young minds, firmly believing that every child deserves equal respect, holistic experiences, and thoughtful guidance. Jessica's influence extends far beyond the classroom - she choreographs the annual spring musical at Murray and shapes dance and colorguard talents at Ashley High School (Wilmington, NC), Coastal Carolina University (Conway, SC), and First Flight Winter Guard (Cary, NC), all while actively contributing her expertise as a sought-after band and colorguard clinician. When she's not nurturing artistic brilliance, you'll find her embracing a healthy lifestyle, savoring the rich aroma of coffee, and sharing precious moments with her beloved black cat, Nessa. Through her dedication and vibrant spirit, Jessica creates harmonies that resonate not only in music but in the hearts and souls of her students.

Mrs. Meade's Teaching Philosophy:

My teaching philosophy is muti-faceted. As a band teacher, I am deeply passionate about the profound impact that an arts education has on the social-emotional and cognitive development of our students. I whole-heartedly believe that music is not just an elective, but a powerful vehicle for creativity, self-expression, personal growth and community building. Central to my philosophy is the creation of a safe, inclusive environment where students feel valued, respected and empowered to discover their unique talents and strengths. I strive to inspire my students to reach their full musical and academic potential, while exhibiting strong character and empathy for others. If I’m lucky, they will learn to love music as much as I love teaching it to them.
