Welcome, Students and Families!
Welcome to a year of exploration and learning in Honors Biology and Honors Earth & Environmental Science. My goal is to create a classroom that’s engaging, supportive, and focused on real-world thinking and connections to science in our daily lives.
Assignments & Materials: All work is posted in Canvas. Students should check Canvas daily for updates, assignments, and announcements.
Grading: Grades are visible in Infinite Campus and synced regularly from Canvas.
Contact: If you have questions, email is the best way to reach me. I’ll respond within 24 hours on weekdays.
Support: I offer structured support time for students during the Flex period.
Thank you for supporting your student in their science journey. I look forward to a fantastic year!

About Me
Hello! My name is Martha Weaver, and I’m happy to welcome your student to Honors Biology / Honors Earth & Environmental at Wilmington Early College High School. It’s a privilege to be part of their journey this school year.
I’m a lifelong science enthusiast with certifications in Secondary Science Education (grades 6–12), a bachelor’s degree in Earth Science, and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from UNC Wilmington. I've also completed post-graduate coursework in Cell Biology and Anatomy & Physiology.
Before joining the WECHS faculty, I taught in both New Hanover and Wake County schools and worked as an Advanced Instructional Designer at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. My career has given me a deep appreciation for both classroom learning and real-world applications of science.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, live music, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the outdoors whenever I can.
I’m so glad to be working with your student this year.
