Classroom Expectations

Communication: 

To help ensure your child is successful in 1st grade it is important for us to have two-way communication. Please never hesitate to contact me with questions or information that will help your child be successful inside and outside of the classroom. I am here to support them! The best way to get in contact with me will be Class Dojo or by email . Please make sure to download the app and join our class! 

Behavior: 

In my classroom we will follow the Whole-Brain Teaching Method which include five main "rules to live by"

1. Follow directions quickly.

2. Raise your hand for permission to speak. 

3.  Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.

4.  Make smart choices. 

5.  Keep our dear learning community happy!

I strive to keep a positive and safe classroom environment, by following the whole-brain teaching method it is my hopes that we will promote teamwork, respect, empowerment, and high-standards within our classroom. 

Snacks and Water:

We want to make sure we are keeping our bodies and mind fueled throughout the day. We will have a daily snack, I ask that you send a snack that will benefit your child's body and mind. Please reach out to me if you cannot supply your child with a snack as we can work out something with our school resources. Please make sure water bottles have their name on them! 

Folders:

In addition to following our classroom rules, students will have a daily behavior log in the back of their take-home folder. It is the expectation that this folder is checked and returned to school daily for homework, important information, and the behavior log. You will need to provide a signature daily for your child's behavior. 

Students will also bring home work every Friday in their folder. Please check this work so students can share all that we have worked on during that week!
