English II

All of our assignments will be posted on Canvas this semester. Please check your Canvas daily for announcements, messages, and assignments. You can access on the computer through NCEdCloud, or download the app onto your phone.

You can access the daily materials on Canvas, even if you miss a day of school.

Folder/binder for handouts

Loose leaf paper

Composition notebook

Pencils

Textbooks/novels will be provided in the classroom. 

Each student is responsible for bringing the above materials to class every day. If you take a book home, you MUST bring it back the next day for class.

In this class, we will be reading a wide variety of literature. We will start the semester Edgar Allen Poe and Gothic literature, we will continue with American classics like "The Great Gatsby," and we will finish with a play. We will be reading many different genres and working through whole group work, small group work, and individual work. On top of this, we will be preparing for the English 2 EOC, as this is the only STATE tested English class.
