At Holly Shelter the counselors loop with their students.
For the 2025-2026 school year I am the 6th grade counselor.
At HSMS the counselors "loop" with their students which means they have the same counselor for all three of their years here.
As always, I am delighted to be on the staff at Holly Shelter Middle School as a school counselor. Along with Ms. Wilson, Ms. Witkowski, and Ms. Liston, I am excited to provide a comprehensive school counseling program to meet the needs of students, parents, and staff.
I have been a school counselor for 17 years and thoroughly enjoy my role as an advocate for students and a resource for families.
I was born and raised in the Midwest, but have lived in Wilmington since 2000. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and my master’s degree in School Counseling from Indiana University.
When not in school I read, sew, garden, and hang out with my family. I am also an international shoestring travel enthusiast. Each summer my family and I spend one month in another country.
I am looking forward to a great year with the students and families at Holly Shelter Middle School.
The role of the school counselor is to help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
