Individual counseling services for middle school students provide a confidential and supportive environment where students can explore and address social, emotional, and academic concerns. Topics may include managing stress, navigating peer relationships, building self-esteem, improving study skills, and coping with elementary/middle and middle/high school transitions. Individual counseling differs from therapy as it provides brief and solution focused sessions to help students meet their individual needs. Referrals can made by parents, teachers, administrators, or students.
Small group counseling services for middle school students offer a supportive and interactive environment where students can explore common concerns and develop essential social and emotional skills. Group topics may include building friendships, managing emotions, improving communication skills, study skills and stress management. Through participation in small group counseling, students have the opportunity to learn from their peers, gain support, and practice new skills in a safe setting.
