About Mrs. Wilkinson

A little about me:

• This is my tenth year teaching social studies for NHCS! 

• I moved to Wilmington in 2016 with my husband and our son, Zachary.

• Education: 

  • Associate of Arts degree from Indian Hills Community College

  •  Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education (with a minor in history from Buena Vista University

  •  Master of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington 

Between my AA and BA, I took two years to travel and live in Europe. Each new place and culture I experience helps me to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world we live in and the people who inhabit it. 

History helps us understand complex questions by examining how the past has shaped (and continues to shape) global, national, and local relationships between societies and people.
