My name is Lori Roy and I am so excited to be part of Hoggard High School, teaching Foundations of Math and Math 1 for the 2025-2026 school year. Teaching, especially math, has always been a passion for me! My career has had some wild twists and turns, starting off as an intern, then teacher at Leland Middle School in 2003, coaching volleyball at LMS and NBHS (JV), and then moving to South Brunswick Middle to teach and be a math curriculum coach. In 2008, I took an administration job at Cape Fear Center for Inquiry where I became Director in 2011 and led that school until 2020. In 2020-2021, I moved back to the classroom and had a wonderful year (yes, even with COVID craziness) teaching Math 1 at North Brunswick High School! In 2021-2022 I made the move to Roland Grise and taught 7th grade then 8th grade. In Fall 2023, I started as a Viking and plan to finish out my career right here!
My husband, Jason, graduated from Duke University with his degree as a Nurse Practitioner and works locally. My oldest daughter, Delaney, will be in 5th grade this year and my youngest, Olivia, in 3rd. Our sweet puppy Frankie is an 10 year old maltese-shitzu mix and completes our little family!
It's going to be a great year! Let's Go Vikings!
