About Mrs. Eason

Hello!  My name is Kristine Eason.  I have been teaching in New Hanover County for 28 years.  I began my career in 1998 after graduating from UNCW with a degree in Elementary Education.  I spent the first 9 years teaching at Dorothy B. Johnson.  During that time, I taught 5th grade for 4 years and 1st grade for 5 years.  I then transferred to Lake Forrest Academy where I served as the Transition Teacher at Codington Elementary.  During this time, I supported children that had successfully completed the program at Lake Forest and where being mainstreamed back into the general education classroom.  In 2010 I transferred to Anderson Elementary and began to teach 4th grade for the next 7 years.  I then spent the next three years as the MTSS Interventionist and a Reading Teacher.  The 4th year I was moved into the MTSS Lead position.  I was then moved back into the classroom where I taught 1st grade for three years.  This past year I was asked to be the Early Literacy Facilitator.  As the Early Literacy Facilitator, my main job is to work closely with the K-3 teachers to ensure that they are delivering effective literacy instruction.  

On a more personal note, I am married to my wonderful husband Chris.  We have two amazing boys, Zac, 27 and Noah, 19.  We also have an adorable Mini Goldendoodle named Lily.   I love to go to the beach, shop, travel and read.
