About Me

Hi! My name is Vanessa DeSelms and I am a Kindergarten teacher here at Eaton!!! I am originally from Miami, Florida. I lived there with my mom, dad and brother until I was 14 years old. We then moved to Gastonia, North Carolina, where I lived until I went to college. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a double major in Elementary Education and Spanish. I moved to Wilmington after graduation and started teaching 4 year old transitional Kindergarten at Myrtle Grove Christian School, where I taught for 5 years. During this time I decided to go back to school and attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I received my Master's in Elementary Education. I also taught Kindergarten for one year at Rocky Point Primary.

I married a wonderful man named Troy and we have two amazing children. Skyler is our son and he is 13 and our daughter Stella and she is 12. I was a stay at home mom for 5 years and was lucky enough to get a job here at Eaton. This is my ninth year hear and I love it!!!

I am very excited to be here and to be your child's teacher!!!
