My name is Mrs. Christoffersen, and I will be your child's teacher this year. This is my tenth year teaching elementary school and my fifteenth year in education. I taught at Edwin A. Alderman Elementary and The Friends School of Wilmington. I have a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on reading from UNCW. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York, but I moved to Wilmington several years ago, and I love it! I enjoy the beach, camping, hiking, yoga, knitting, and reading.
First grade is an incredible adventure, filled with wonderful activities and experiences. We will have fun with science experiments and math investigations; we’ll make new friends, write stories, read fantastic books, and work on becoming more independent learners!
In our school, learning is a community effort, and you and I share a common goal: to help your child become an independent, joyful, and responsible learner. I will do my best to be available to help support you and your child on their first-grade journey. Parent-teacher communication is an important key to student success. Please contact me with any questions or concerns that you or your students may have.
