Vocal Music 

Welcome to RGMS Vocal Music classes.  Students will:

• Develop knowledge and application of basic music theory including reading, notating, and analyzing music

• Develop knowledge of fundamental vocal production 

• Demonstrate responsibility to the choral ensemble 

• Develop criteria for evaluating the quality and effectiveness of music performances and compositions and apply the criteria in their personal listening and performance. 

• Develop skills related to pitch control, harmony and multiple part singing 

• Sing with expression and technical accuracy a varied repertoire of vocal literature representing diverse genres and cultures 

• Develop and understanding of the relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts 

• Develop an understanding of music’s relationship to history and culture
