Teaching Philosophy

Philosophy

I feel that the choice to become an educator is one of the most noble and difficult career paths a person could choose. We play an active role in molding your child’s future. I believe it is my role as an educator to provide a safe, stimulating, and respectful environment in which to learn. I am an advocate for my students and act as a bridge between the school, the community, as well as my students and their families.

I emphasize a curriculum that stimulates curiosity, fosters inquiry, and gives students the opportunity to discover and build upon their individual skills and talents. I will encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and group discussion or debate to allow students the opportunity to experience multiple cultural perspectives.

My goal is to help all my students become responsible, educated, and equitable members of their communities. To achieve this, I promote a democratic classroom where all my students play an active part in their education as well as the education of their peers. I will present opportunities for students to make choices in regards to their own learning. My curriculum will highlight the diversity in the classroom and the world in which we live while focusing on aspects relevant to a young adolescent’s life.
