COURSE DESCRIPTION/GOALS
Hoggard dance classes are designed so that every student has the opportunity to grow and learn as an artist AND dancer. In class, we learn about the history, terminology, technique, and choreography of several different genres of dance. There will be many different learning opportunities including movement investigation, body exploration, individual/group projects&discussions, improvisation, dance combos, strength&conditioning, and performances. While dance class at Hoggard should be a fun learning experience, it is also meant to be taken seriously. I plan to create a safe and inviting environment so that you can come and explore how dance can positively influence your lives. My hope is that you will broaden your knowledge of cultures, discover new and healthy ways to express emotions, and improve memorization skills. . The curriculum will encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone while giving you tools to apply to your daily life.
