What is Flex anyways? A built in period of time during which students will be able to get tutoring help from teachers, make up missed assignments, attend club meetings, or participate in one of the many enrichment activities offered throughout the school.
Some examples could be chess, trivia, yoga, guitar, arts and crafts, intramural sports, etc. This will not only allow students time built into our regular schedule who are in need of remediation of intensive interventions but also allow us to reestablish and build relationships/rapport with students.
What is the purpose of Flex? The hope is that we are able to help students in need while improving the school culture/climate at the same time. This will also ensure equitable access to a meaningful learning experience for all students.
Who signs up for Flex? EVERY student. EVERY day.
Where do I sign up for Flex? http://flextimemanager.com/login
Why are we going to Homeroom every Monday this year? Homeroom teachers will ensure that their homeroom students have successfully signed up for the following week of Flex (sessions Tuesday through Friday). Also students will receive Flex training during homeroom.
What else is different this year? Teachers will be offering MANY more fun enrichment activities and fewer study halls this year. ALSO (!!!) Flextime Manager now has an app that you can download on your phone!
How do I know where to report to for Flex? Check your Flex app or the website for your room location. Some teachers may not be meeting in their actual room, so pay close attention.
When is Flex? EXCLUDING the first week of school, Flex will be directly after 3rd period. The first week of school it will be after 1st period (at 9:55 am).
