Military Family Resources

Eugene Ashley is nestled just south of one of the largest Military bases in the United Stated Marine Corps, Camp Lejeune which is located in Jacksonville, NC.  We have active duty children and retired families of Military men and woman who live in the Wilmington area.  This website is a resource for those families and works with the surrounding military communities to provide transitioning and current military families with local and national resources, ensuring student success. On this page, you will find a current list of programs and services for area military families, including current enrollment guidelines.

We hope that this information will assist you in making a seamless transition into our school family. If you have any questions that may not be answered on this page, please feel free to contact Master Chief Matthew DesChamps (ret) at Eugene Ashley HS, NJROTC Instructor, Military Family Liaison, at (910) 790-2360.

PURPLE UP Day 15 April 2025.  Eugene Ashley High Schools Eagle's, wear your purple attire to show support of our military children and families.

Purple Star Award

North Carolina is home to a large population of active duty, guard, reserve, and veteran armed services members, and the state’s public schools reflect that. In 2019, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction launched the Purple Star Award Designation initiative to recognize the state’s strong military presence and its support for military families. The Purple Star designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families.
