AIG (Academically and Intellectually Gifted) Program

New Hanover County Schools want to ensure that all students are being challenged and supported to grow academically and creatively. To this end, NHCS supports a gifted and talented education program throughout its K-12 schools. Ms. Mauk is the Gifted Education Specialist (GES) assigned to Myrtle Grove to support its gifted students as well as those who show potential. Ms. Mauk works closely with classroom teachers and elective teachers to ensure there are a wide variety of high-interest and rigorous opportunities to keep students engaged and growing.

The NHCS nomination process is uniform across the county. The same data collection tools and Match Team selection processes are used in all schools.
