CLASS Project & NC Wise Owl

What is CLASS Project?

CLASS Project stands for "Connecting Libraries and Schools for Success" and is a collaboration between New Hanover County Public Library and public schools. The project's mission is to enhance student's access to information and materials.

Through CLASS Project, students can do the following:

  • Access NHCPL research databases
  • Borrow digital materials such as e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines
  • Borrow up to 2 print books, or audiobooks, or magazines at a time (no DVDs or music CDs)
  • There are no overdue fines or fees for CLASS Project accounts.

Enrollment

No action is needed to participate in CLASS Project. Every New Hanover County student is automatically enrolled (there is an option to opt out of the program).

Library Card

Student school ID numbers (library/lunch card number) will be used as their public library card number. An actual public library card is NOT needed. Students simply give the librarian their name or ID number to check out a book from the public library.
