Class Syllabus

Welcome to Sixth Grade Science!

Curriculum: Sixth grade science follows the North Carolina Essential Standards.  The North Carolina Essential Standards for Grade 6 Science can be found on my teacher webpage.  

Supplies: green plastic folder with 3 prongs and 1-2 pockets, pencils, colored pencils or markers

Absences: Students are required to complete any missed assignments when absent. Due dates for assignments missed when absent will be extended based on the number of days absent.  

Homework:  Class assignments are intended to be completed during class time, however, if the assignment is not completed in class it should be completed as homework.  Since adequate time is provided in class to complete the work assigned, students that use class time wisely will have little homework.    Although we review for tests in class, additional studying at home is necessary to learn the content.

Grading Policy: Late assignments will have 10 percentage points deducted for each school day past the due date.

A:100-90 B: 89-80 C: 79-70 D: 69-60 F: 59-0
